Wanted: ferret wanted in Kitchener, Ontario

Before i go to the store and purchase a ferret for myself for Xmas, I thought i'd look here. I would much rather 'rescue' one or even a pair, either here or through the humane society before i contribute to the pet store corporations breeding for money schemes.. i am a stay at home mommy and my youngest one is now in school full time and i need a baby around the house again!!
We have experience with all animals. i do have a small child, so friendly would be beneficial but i am willing to take the time with one not so used to being handled. I do have a vet and can provide proof of first vet visit.. references etc... clean non smoking home.
